Gallery Description: "This section is entirely dedicated to 3-Dimensional Digital Art, therefore submissions here utilize the Cartesian coordinates (X,Y,Z) on a 2-Dimensional digital canvas. Such items include 3-Dimensional renders from a 3D program, or art where 3-Dimensional depictions account for the majority of the artwork."
To begin with, not everyone might be familiar with Cartesian coordinates, so I'll start there. Cartesian coordinates are a way of defining any point in space using three axis directions. First off, imagine you are looking straight forward. The "Y" axis would be the line that runs both left and right. If you were to hold your arms out at your sides, parallel with the ground, your arms would be the Y axis. The "Z" axis is up and down. Your body would be this axis. Gallery Description: "Digital Art done via the use of computer-aided drawing tools or the digital techniques are similar to those found in traditional drawings."
As you can see, the drawing galleries are very simple in definition. In short, they aim to create digitally what the traditional artist does with pencil, chalk, markers, and similar tools used to create drawings.
Typically drawings are more rough in nature, like a sketch. Often viewed as rough drafts, drawings are less time consuming than a painting because of the nature of the tools involved. Although there are some examples of highly detailed drawings, in general they are created to convey an idea or capture a moment quickly.
Because the tools used vary from typical painting techniques, the images have a more distinct appearance to them. Shape and form are emphasized more as color is used in creative ways to build the image.

Favourite your journal!
That's right! For those who don't know, or haven't been to my userpage yet, you can now (with some limitations), Favourite people's journals! With help from dancewiththesky, the original idea being by BoffinbraiN, and coded by myself, you can now use CSS, GD and PHP to fut a fave-counter on your userpage! Each person who reads your journal can click on the button and fave the news article, and the counter will go up. Keep in mind that this does NOT add the journal to your favourites, nor can someone see who has faved the journal (due to technical limitations). But this is a concept that is quickly expanding.
