Polluted Sky Dead Soil

My submission for competition. This time the theme was gems.
Sometimes I think that we care for things or find them beautiful for the wrong reasons. Jewels is one of these, sure they're pretty and look hell good on one's neck but still they're quite useless most of the time and have no true value when it comes to a purpose. Then I started thinking about what to do and the picture of a girl decorating a dead tree with precious gems came to my mind. As for the story behind it, I just couldn't think exactly why she'd do such a thing. Maybe she thought that precious stones looked prettier than leaves or maybe there are no more living trees in her world and she wants to restore some of its beauty in the only way she can think of.
